About Us
Who are We?
Companions of the Mosque (COM) was officially established as a registered charity in 2021 with three trustees. From the outset, we proactively began collecting donations to acquire a dedicated building to serve as a centre for our community’s needs. We proudly cater to individuals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities, reflecting the richness of our community.
What do We do?
We serve everyone in Sutton and the surrounding areas who is interested in learning more about Islam, exploring its culture, or gaining new knowledge. Our goal is to engage and involve the entire community, regardless of faith or background, fostering understanding and unity.
At Companions of the Mosque, our events are open to everyone, regardless of background or belief. Wherever possible, we ensure that our events remain free of charge to encourage participation and inclusivity.
How do we do it?
Companions of the Mosque is a registered charity (Charity Registration No. 1194653).
Our work is sustained entirely through the voluntary efforts of our members and the generous donations of those who attend our talks and seminars.
Our mission is to share and impart knowledge about all aspects of Islam. We also encourage our members to share their skills and expertise so others can benefit. This often takes the form of workshops, seminars, or interactive sessions. Regardless of the platform, age, or gender, attendees gain valuable insights by participating regularly.
Where do We do it?
Our weekly gatherings are typically held in the Civic Offices, located below the Sutton Library building. Our main monthly talks and additional activities, such as sports sessions for young children and sisters, are hosted at The Quad Youth Centre.
